Tara Alzahawi, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Electrical Discipline Lead
Tara has a strong background in design of 230 kV and 138 kV substations and power system modelling and analysis using Etap and PSCAD, SKM, and Easy Power. Her power system analysis experience includes load flow, harmonic, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash, and reliability studies. Tara also has extensive experience in relay settings, coordination and programming of substation protective devices and a strong working knowledge of procedures and standards such as CEC, CSA and NFPA.
Tara’s experience also has given her a strong background in electrical distributions design, high, medium and low voltage; multidiscipline EPCM projects and an expert in planning and design studies for electrical distributions in utility, potash, uranium and gold plants. Tara is a logical team player, self-learner and decision maker.
Tara has also published journals, technical reports and articles in the field of power system reliability and protection.
