Finite Element Analysis on Polyethylene Tanks - Vaderstad Industries

March performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on polyethylene tanks to determine the deflections and stresses in the walls of the tanks. A creep analysis using the appropriate time dependent material properties was also performed to determine the behaviour of the tanks at normal and elevated temperatures. The tanks were also analyzed for the hydrostatic case for the three temperature scenarios at the minimum wall thicknesses provided by the client.
